Who or What is...

"...I'm in a funk about making what appears to have been a bad decision..."

Blog Off, Jan 3, 2006

Oh, you again.

Go away. I have nothing for you. Go read a blog or something.

Blog off.

This month has been six weeks long, and every night in it ended somewhere around 5 AM. Spots, then drinking. Spots, then writing. Spots, then watching enough TV so that I know a little bit about every show that's on the air this season.

I need to get back on a schedule again. I may have an 8 week job on a 6 episode show that starts Wednesday, but I won't know for sure until about 12 hours from now. That will keep me in New York til mid March, when I have some road work booked.

I seek me some funny.

A shareholders revolt is happening in my building. I'm not the only one who's had trouble. On Sunday evening, Chris, myself and a neighbor were invited to a board member's apartment to discuss something the neighbor claimed that board member said about me. (It's like a giant sorority here). Despite our and the neighbor's attempts at being reasonable, we were kicked out of the board member's apartment within fifteen minutes. The board member's defense was so bizarre and guilt-ridden that I notified the Law and Order people of a potential season finale in the event I found dead in my bed.

I'm in a funk about making what appears to have been a bad decision. I left a guild show that remains on the air for a non-guild show that is now "no longer on the air." We don't say cancelled, Reader. In show business, tv shows aren't cancelled. They are merely not picked up after their the end of their season.

You know what they say. One door closes because you pulled it shut, then another door closes and two more slam in your face and there you are, stuck alone in a room wondering how you're going to pay for it all.

Happy New Year.
