Died and Gone to Babyland, April 28th, 2007
KilBaby is on the road with Babydaddy, and I'm all by my lonesome for 11 days. I should be happy and well-rested, but I'm just worried and lonely. Babies change so quickly, I'm going to miss something. He is rolling over, holding his own bottle, taking his binky out of his mouth and putting it back in. His feet grip things like a monkey's. He smiles, wiggles and oinks when I walk in his room for breakfast.
Did you see me on Fox News's Hannity and Colmes on Wednesday night? Well, I was. The booking came at the last minute, and it was a learning experience. Unlike Tough Crowd, where you could toss out a volleyball so the other comics bat it around, this was a game where everyone served aces. There was no play, all slam. You take a point of view and you hammer away until someone cuts you off during a pause. The guests were Geraldo Rivera and me. And some magazine editor, but she was a face on satellite. I sat next to Geraldo, looking for an opening in the rapid-fire, emotional dialogue he was having with Sean. It took two segments before I realized I had to talk over
Geraldo, and I wasn't very good at it.
And there's more, bitches. New York Magazine used a quote of mine for a story on Imus. On Wednesday, May 2, I'm taping Red Eye, Fox News's late night show. If you were awake at 7 AM a few Fridays ago, maybe you saw me on the CW's morning show, chiming in on celebrity goings on. And I was on the Today Show
(ok, Jan 1, but I forgot to mention it), doing the same for Best Week Ever
, with Christian Finnegan and Sherrod Small. And BWE
used me in a sketch. And the site, the one I've been working on for 50 hours a week, at least, since early February, will launch in a few weeks.
